Dear Pastor / potential supporter,

As the senior pastor of a missions base church, and pioneering other works over fifteen years in the former Soviet Union, including a Bible training center, I heartily recommend Tom Lenz and his wife Beth as missionaries to support. In the nearly ten years he was with us previously (1993-2002) he had a remarkable attitude and was very well loved by the nationals here in our church and throughout the nation of Estonia.

My wife Diana and I have been on the foreign field since 1990, when we moved here as the Rhema / RMAI's first missionaries to reside in communist Soviet Union or Eastern Europe. Over these years we have had among our staff and leadership several Bible school graduates from Rhema (6 besides my wife and myself), and two from other schools. Of these, Tom shone out above all the others with his servant's heart and readiness to do whatever needed to be done, whether easy or difficult; whether esteemed or distained.

Tom's wife Beth also has the true heart of a pioneer, having made a bold move alone several years ago to St. Petersburg, Russia, where she spent a year before moving to Estonia. She has a Master's degree in international business, which is a great asset in helping to build up the infrastructure of Christian businesses which is much needed in this post-communist society.

We feel it is necessary to add a few words about supporting missions in the continent of Europe. Much has been said and written about the "10-40 window" by Missiologists in the United States, but currently, years after the beginnings of the afore-mentioned emphasis, the need in Europe as a whole is greater still. Many of the Islamic nations of the 10-40 window are in great need, but Europe as a continent is the single most desperate continent on the face of the earth as far as the Gospel is concerned. Many nations have a lower percentage of Evangelical Christians then India and Pakistan for example.

This European Union is now of the highest prophetic importance because of the events which are endeavoring to transpire in this re-formed Roman Empire that Daniel spoke of. It is imperative that the Body of Christ be built up here without delay because of the eroding freedoms for Christianity in this new European super-state, of which Estonia is now a part.

We personally esteem both Tom and Beth very highly, and pray that you will give them every prayerful consideration for financial support in this crucial time before our Lord's return.

Yours most earnestly, in the harvest-fields of Europe,

Ken Kaasik,
Estonia, Europe
